CRAMP

A cramp is a sudden, involuntary, and painful contraction of a muscle. In cycling, they most commonly occur in the calf, hamstring, or quadriceps. Causes include muscle fatigue, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance (lack of sodium, potassium, or magnesium).

To prevent cramps, it is important to stay hydrated, maintain proper electrolyte levels, and build endurance gradually. When a cramp occurs, gentle stretching and massaging the affected muscle can help it relax.
