BICYCLE PATH

In the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918, a bicycle path is defined as the part of the highway reserved solely for the use of cyclists. However, in our country, in many provinces like the capital Ankara, bicycle paths either do not exist at all or are almost non-existent. Perhaps the only province that does not align with this reality is Konya. There are approximately 630 km of bicycle paths in the Konya city center (2025).

The most organized bicycle path in the world is EuroVelo, the European cycle route network, which reaches a total of 60,000 kilometers with 12 main routes.

Another bicycle route, the Trans Canada Trail, crosses northern Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific with a length of 24,000 km. This is not only a bicycle path; it serves nature walking and horseback riding in the summer, and skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
