TRACK RACING: TEAM PURSUIT

In Team Pursuit, teams of 4 riders start on opposite sides of the velodrome and race over 4 km (men) or 3 km (women). Riders take turns at the front (leading), while the others draft behind in a line. A rider who cannot maintain the pace drops out of the rotation.

The team's time is taken when the third rider crosses the finish line. Exceptional teamwork and the smooth exchange of the lead position are crucial for a fast time. It is one of the most technically demanding and visually spectacular events in track cycling.
