TRACK RACING: 1 KM TIME TRIAL

The 1 km Time Trial (Kilometer) is a solo sprint event on the track. A single rider starts from a standing start and races against the clock over 1 km. Each rider has one attempt. The rider with the fastest time wins.

It is an extreme test of explosive power from a standing start combined with the ability to sustain very high power output over the full distance. It is one of the most physically demanding events in track cycling and was historically an Olympic event.
