Snake Bite

SNAKE BITE

In case of a snakebite during bicycle tours, the following first aid steps should be applied:

1. Call 112 for medical help immediately.
2. Keep the bitten person calm and as still as possible. Movement speeds up venom spread.
3. Immobilize the bitten limb and keep it below heart level.
4. Remove rings, watches, and tight clothing near the bite, as swelling may occur.
5. Apply cold to the wound.
6. Do NOT: cut the wound, suck out the venom, apply a tourniquet, or give alcohol.
7. If possible, note the appearance of the snake but do not approach or try to catch it.
