RIM
The rim is the circular outer part of the wheel to which the tire is attached. It is connected to the hub by spokes. Rims are typically made of aluminum alloy or carbon fiber. On bikes with rim brakes, the rim provides the surface for the brake pads to grip.
The width and depth of a rim affect the wheel’s strength, aerodynamics, and the tier sizes it can accommodate.
