HANDLEBAR
The bicycle's handlebar steers and directs the bicycle. It is the equivalent of the steering wheel in a car. It is connected to the front wheel via a device called a forkthrough astem assembly.
Important components including brake and gear levers, as well as various accessories such as a bell and bicycle computer, are also attached to the handlebars.
In addition to steering the bicycle, the handlebars support a significant portion of the rider's weight depending on the bicycle type and geometry. For each specific bicycle type designed for a specific riding style, a different handlebar type has been specialized.
