GEAR TYPES
Bicycles use various systems for changing gears:
- Derailleur Gears: The most common system, using an external chain and shifting components.
- Internal Hub Gears: The gears are housed inside the rear hub, protecting them from dirt and allowing for shifting while stationary.
- Fixed Gear: The pedals are directly connected to the rear wheel; if the wheel turns, the pedals turn.
- Single Speed: One gear ratio and a freewheel, allowing for coasting.
