FIRST AID IN ACCIDENTS / BROKEN TEETH

After a bicycle accident, saving a broken or knocked-out tooth can be very easy.

Broken tooth fragments can be re-attached to the tooth. For this, the broken tooth fragments must be found and a dentist reached as soon as possible.

A knocked-out tooth can be repositioned by holding it by the enamel or crown—without touching the root. If the knocked-out tooth is dirty, it can be cleaned by rinsing it under a faucet for 10 seconds.

If the tooth cannot be repositioned, it is immediately placed in a container of milk or a glass of saline solution (if milk or saline is not available, it is placed inside the cheek between the cheek and the gum). A dentist should be reached within at most two hours.
