The group has been active in Istanbul, with Kadıköy as its base, since 2019. In 2022–2023, it carried out a number of international projects as a registered association.

In March 2021, the group trained 25 cycling instructors for the İsbike Cycling School. Through the capacity and outreach of these instructors, more than 10,000 people—particularly women and children—have since been supported in learning how to cycle in Istanbul.

Also in March 2021, the group developed a Cycling Instructor Curriculum and has since trained nearly 500 women as Bicycle Ambassadors across Türkiye and internationally, including in India.

The group’s main goal is to empower people who face barriers to participation—including women, young people, children, older people, and people with disabilities—by providing access to cycling education and helping them gain greater mental and physical confidence and independence.

Every year, as a complementary initiative, the group runs the “Zincir Kıran Çocuklar” (Chain-Breaking Children) project, providing bicycles to children under the care of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and continuing to offer cycling lessons with the support of volunteer Bicycle Ambassadors.

The group also organizes cycling races and events, while maintaining a strong culture of solidarity among women through WhatsApp communication channels. These networks support women in finding roommates, employment, legal assistance, pet adoption opportunities, and other forms of mutual support.
